CATHY CORSETTI
General Business - 1977
What brought you to Humber and your program of study?
After I graduated from high school, Humber College seemed like the next step. I took the General Business program, and in the second year I took the Law Clerk program.
What was your favourite Humber memory or experience?
I guess my favorite experience was playing cards between classes. That is how I met my husband of 45 years. He is also a Humber graduate.
What was Humber's greatest impact on your personal and professional life?
It helped me embark on a successful career as a paralegal. I was honoured to receive an Honorary Bachelor Degree in Applied Studies in 1977 at Humber Convocation.
What are you up to now?
I am a licensed Paralegal specializing in Landlord & Tenant services. I was elected for 3 terms to sit on the Board of the Law Society of Ontario as a Paralegal Bencher. I also was a part-time professor teaching the Paralegal Program. I have been an Adjudicator at the Law Society Tribunal for 15 years. I actively mentor new paralegals.
What else do you want to share (e.g. Memorable trip; If you had a superpower; Favourite food or coffee shop; Personal and professional interests; Awards and recognition; Other milestones)?
We have two children, one who is also a Humber graduate with a very successful career and one who is a high school teacher. We spend time up north at our cottage with our three grandchildren making great memories.
